What do you think it is?
It is “What can I do at home?”
The answer to this question is quite simple. It is not about adding anything extra for you to do. Quite frankly it is quite the opposite. It is about taking things away, changing the habits that bring people through my front door in the first place.
You see, if we start to add more to an already ‘stressed’ system, eventually the system will implode again. It can not always take more on.
Let me explain. Years ago one of our very good family friends Ian, one of Sydney’s leading cardiologists, consulted another of our family’s friends for a heart condition. The family friend came back from that consult distraught.
He said that Ian would not help him. Not straight away anyway. But he said his heart condition was urgent, he desperately needed heart bypass surgery.
Ian had asked him to do one thing. One thing before deciding to help and especially before undergoing any heart surgery. That was, give up smoking. Then and only then would Ian help, and this life saving heart bypass operation would be done.
You see, Ian understood the epigenetic cause of heart disease. He could have had our family friend on the table to perform heart bypass surgery on then and there. However unless our family friend decided to change his lifestyle the same things would occur again and again, and the heart surgery would become a waste.
He had to stop doing what was causing the problem. He had to change his lifestyle.
Before you add things to your list, look at the habits you have gathered over the years; look at your family traits; look at how you sit and hold yourself; look at your diet and how you fuel yourself; and how you handle emotional stress.
As Chatswood Chiropractor our role is not only to remove the long term effects of these detrimental habits, but to also show you ways in which to stop reproducing them
